Farmstands at MCHD

The MCC is Colorado Proud to have farm stands at MCHD campuses. Our weekly farm stands provide the MCHD community with access to fresh, healthy produce that the students helped to grow and harvest, allowing them to develop an appreciation for food and where it comes from. We’re excited to join Colorado Proud – our farm stand products have been grown in Colorado in our MCHD gardens.

While our farm stands raise money that supports our community, our mission is not fundraising but rather a community-building initiative. Our farm stands have a name your price system because we believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food. We aim to create an awareness around the value of food and the impact of food choices on the environment. Additionally, each farm stand has a Sharing Basket for those to take what they need or (share excess produce from their home garden), fostering a sense of community and engagement.

We are committed to zero waste at our farm stands, and encourage everyone to reuse bags and jars, which is a great way to model the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Currently, our farm stands are weekly on Wednesdays at the Mayfair campus, Thursdays at the Park Hill campus, and Fridays at the Central Park campus. If you have something to contribute from your house or garden, please feel free to bring and share.
